About Me
Oh hi there, I’m Chris [frantic waving]!
This is me and my crazy family. I’m an NCT trained antenatal and postnatal practitioner and I have been supporting families during their pregnancy and postnatal period since 2016.
I love my job, I love the relationship I built with families. From meeting very early pregnant women in Pregnancy Yoga, to empowering couples during their NCT antenatal classes and then meeting them again at Baby Massage or Mother and baby yoga with their little babies, it really is the best job in the world.
I’m quite passionate about women’s ability to voice their needs, to know their options and to be respected, hell no, worshipped during their pregnancy, birth and early postnatal period. To trust their bodies and their instincts.
I want for families to feel empowered by their decisions and that’s my mission in all the work I do.
As a breastfeeding counsellor I also run the NCT Baby Café in Reading alongside the NCT Bumps and Babies. It’s a supportive environment where new families can come and chat and get any kind of feeding support that they may require (from breastfeeding, bottle feeding, mix feeding, expressing allllll the way to starting solid food). It’s also a great place for that very early postnatal period, when the baby is only a few weeks old and and mum can’t part take in yoga or baby massage yet.
When I’m not working, I can be found on my bike, at the playground with my girls, at the cinema and most often then not either singing or dancing or both, much to the embarrassment of my eldest. Life goal!
I created this website the relieve anxieties, hopefully, when you found yourself googling at 4am “Will my baby now have a peanut allergy because I have yet again eaten a WHOLE jar of peanut butter” or “I think my baby is broken, what’s the return policy to the hospital”.
At times, I might mention some products that I liked and if the seller allows it I might add an affiliated link. It cost you nothing so that’s cool. This is all new to me, I’m very much an in-person kinda kid so we’ll see how it goes.
Also, I’m mostly nice, and my motto is “don’t be a d*ick” and I try to live my life without hurting others and by spreading joy, fun and a hard dose of reality. So don’t be scared of asking me stuff, unless it’s money, I don’t have any. I’ll always be honest and I’ll try not to be too brutal (but I’m French, so you know that’s hard, but I’m working on it).
Love and squeeze,
Chris x
